Washington, D.C. -- The National Association of Government Contractors (NAGC) announces a partnership with ERS Advisors to provide public monthly government business acquisition webinars tailored to its small business membership. Webinars are eligible for Certified Government Contractor Program recertification credits.

NAGC's new offering of business acquisition webinars, "Small Business Webinars on Access to Government Funding, big ideas for small businesses looking to maximize their business development ROI," is targeted at bringing small businesses increased access to government funding.

The NAGC webinars will be held the second week of each month and bring former and current government and industry decision makers to the table to share their procurement knowledge with the small business community. Participants will learn what government buys through national and regional contracts, what and how it buys locally, the business opportunities for small and small disadvantaged businesses, how to market and partner with the major prime contractors and how to get involved in the government marketplace at all levels.

The first two webinars topics are:
  • June 10, 2010: Getting Work from Government Prime Contractors
Learn first-hand from executives of several of the country's leading government contractors, how to position your small business for subbing on national contracts and get immediate tasks on current contracts. Learn from insiders how the major firms address government small and small disadvantage subcontracting goals, their small business subcontracting and teaming concerns, how to use those concerns to improve your marketing position and how to craft meaningful subcontracting agreements that increase workflow to your firm.
  • July 8, 2010: Major Health IT Opportunities Meeting the Government ICD 10 Mandate
There is a sea change coming in the healthcare industry as the United States adopts a greatly expanded healthcare IT coding system beginning in 2012. Senior Officials from Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS and industry come together to discuss ICD-10 requirements, which has over 155,000 individual codes. Learn how all HIPAA "covered entities" must make the change and how small and large IT firms can prepare to support health care providers and payers for this significant business opportunity.
Registration can be accessed through the NAGC website, GovernmentContractors.org, at $199.00. NAGC encourages small businesses to take advantage of this low-cost professional development tool and to communicate their business acquisition topic suggestions to the Association for consideration.
